Related ConditionsDCDChildren with Developmental Coordination Disorder, also know as developmental dyspraxia, are characterized as being "clumsy" or "awkward". Many dyspraxic children fall behind in meeting common developmental milestones such as crawling, walking, and first words. These children often exhibit poor posture, walk awkwardly, and have difficulty catching a ball. Many also have a reading or writing disability or demonstrate expressive speech problems. Occupational therapists, physiotherapists and receiving additional assistance at school can all help a dyspraxic child cope, and even overcome, many difficulties. Related LDRC Articles
