The LDRC Project (Learning Disabilities Resource Community) is a virtual information community created to benefit all individuals affected by learning disabilities either as an individual with LD, a parent, teacher, researcher, other professionals or a concerned community member. It is a place to gain knowledge about learning disabilities, discover new teaching and educational tools, share information and experiences, and contribute to a greater understanding of Learning Disabilities.
1. The LDRC site will be featuring a new article series entitled Informed Consumer 's Guide intended to bring clarity around the efficacy of the different interventions and treatments available for LD. The series is scheduled to begin at the end of March and will run every month for the next 6 months.
2. Now you can buy Advertising Space on the LDRC site! Advertise your LD related product or organization directly to the Learning Disability Community. Visit the LDRC Advertising page for more information.
3. Launch of the SNOW Online LD workshops. The SNOW project aims to provide online resources and professional development opportunities for educators and parents of students with special needs. Learn about how LD may affect a child in the classroom and what you can do, as an educator, to support them. Space is limited so register now for the SNOW online LD workshops.
4. A recent version of the Adaptive Tutor (ATutor) Designer Demo System is now available from the LDRC site. This is an Adaptive Web Authoring tool that allows instructional designers to assemble content to be presented in an adaptive environment-- an environment that adapts accordingly to each user's preferred navigational patterns. Test the system or create an online course of your own!
5. Meaning Equivalence Project: ME-Online is currently being featured on the LDRC site. It is a tool--backed by a decade of research--that can be used for building and constructing tests in any content area. Recently a presentation was made to the Educational Testing Services (ETS) in Princeton about potential collaborations on this project. Discussions are currently in progress.
6. The LDRC at Destination Success Conference 2002: The LDRC will be there to talk about the features of the LDRC site including current projects, tools and much more. This event runs from May 6- 7th 2002. Check out the LDRC Event Listings for more information.
